It is a super elastic alloy that can be stretched and bent at least ten times more than ordinary steel leaders without permanent deformation. The perfect formula of nickel and titanium alloys creates a super elastic property that allows a fish to apply a huge bite. The 2-strand Kinky knot stretches and recovers as long as the steel leaders fit under the same conditions.
The line is also programmed to stay straight because it directly anneals the wire through a complex annealing process. Kinky 2 strand knot actually has memory programmed to stay straight. Straight laser memory is created by constraining the material into exactly the required shape (in a straight line, of course) and heating it to a temperature above 932°F (500°C) for a period of time. There is simply no other line that is straighter than the Kinky Knot 2 wire.
